FAMILY MATTERS (2)
May 24, 2022

Our desire should be for a nation that walks rightly before God.

Last Sunday we looked at the first two points in the response from the LoveSingapore leadership team to the Court of Appeal ruling regarding the legal challenge to Section 377A. Today we will look at points 3 & 4.

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. (Proverbs 14:34)

LoveSingapore Statement on the Court of Appeal Ruling (points 3 & 4 of four):
3. WE APPEAL to our secular Government in multi-religious Singapore:
• To work continuously toward protecting the right of every individual or group to profess, practise and propagate their religious convictions which include the dignity of human sexuality and the complementarity of male and female.
• To enshrine in the Constitution the sanctity of heterosexual marriage, establishing this core moral value as the natural order and norm, the right model for procreation, the stable foundation to bring up the next generation for the long-term good and continuity of our nation.

4. WE APPRECIATE our Government. We love our nation. This is “Home Truly”. We are passionate about her future. We will come alongside our leaders to safeguard our nation’s moral fibre. Together, we will keep Singapore exceptional. A Singapore we are all proud of. A Singapore “Made for Families.”

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. (Proverbs 14:34)

Our desire should be for a nation that walks rightly before God. It is important for us as children of God to understand how God has instituted marriage and family and set commandments for us to follow and obey no matter what secular society allows or promotes in the name of diversity and inclusivity.

Let us take to heart the warning of Colossians 2:8 “See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Christ.”

May we prove ourselves “to be blameless and innocent, children of God above reproach in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you (we) appear as lights in the world,” (Philippians 2:15).
