Matthew 6:33–34
God never intended for us to fight our battles alone or sail through life on our own.
In the nineteenth century, cargo ships were known to sink when they carried more than they were designed to bear, often resulting in the loss of both ship and crew. To prevent such tragedies, a British Member of Parliament proposed a law requiring ships to be marked with a load line, indicating the maximum weight they could safely carry.
In a similar way, the lifts we use today clearly display their maximum capacity. When a lift is overloaded, an alarm sounds and it cannot operate properly.
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. (Mt 6:33)
Dear brothers and sisters, each of us also has a limit to what we can carry in life. God has created every person differently, and each of us has a different capacity. When we carry too much pressure, fear, worry, anxiety, uncertainty, or emotional burden, our lives can become weighed down. Over time, warning signs begin to appear. We may experience anxiety, exhaustion, burnout, discouragement, or spiritual weakness.
If you find yourself in such a season, feeling as though you are about to sink under the weight of life’s burdens, do not carry them alone. Reach out for help. Allow your spiritual family to support you, walk alongside you, and pray with you. Learn once again to trust in the Lord, and place your burdens in His hands.
God never intended for us to fight our battles alone or sail through life on our own. As a spiritual family, we are called to support one another and journey together in faith. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 6:33–34:
“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
As God’s people, let us seek first His kingdom and His righteousness. Instead of being consumed by worries about tomorrow, let us entrust our concerns to Him and learn to depend on His grace day by day. The Lord knows our needs, cares for us deeply, and promises to walk with us through every challenge we face.
May we find renewed strength in His grace, cast our burdens upon Him, and continue running the race of faith with perseverance and hope.
