Reflecting on Lunar New Year and Lent Season
February 19, 2024

Let’s cherish each other and embrace the love and encouragement that flows through our Kum Yan family..

he Lunar New Year has entered its ninth day, and as the festivities begin to settle, we find ourselves returning to the familiar rhythm of our daily lives. Amidst the hustle and bustle, let’s pause for a moment and reflect: What significance does this year’s Lunar New Year hold for us?

Let’s cling to His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us as we grow in our relationship with Jesus and with one another.

Who have we visited? Whom have we blessed? Have we had the opportunity to share the transformative power of Jesus in our lives? What moments have warmed our hearts? Perhaps it was an elder’s blessing upon us? Is there someone we want to reach out to and reconnect with?
During family gatherings, amidst conversations and shared meals, we often find that food tastes better. The stories shared by our elders weave a tapestry of shared experiences, binding us closer together. Time seems to slip away when we are surrounded by family, and as we count our blessings together, our gratitude towards God deepens, strengthening our faith. Dear brothers and sisters, let’s cherish each other and embrace the love and encouragement that flows through our Kum Yan family.
As we journey through the Lent season, may we draw nearer to the Lord Jesus and deepen our bonds with our Kum Yan brothers and sisters. The daily devotions for Lent 2024, themed “Ever Changing World, Never Changing Word”, published by The Bible Society, serves as a great reminder of the enduring power of God’s Word in a world marked by uncertainty and turmoil. Let’s cling to His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to guide us as we grow in our relationship with Jesus and with one another.
