Kingdom Assignment

Ephesians 2:8-10

July 6, 2026

Be strong, courageous and Kingdom-minded in this season.

Dear KY family,

The mid-year school holidays have come to an end and we have now gone past the halfway mark for the year. Many of us are getting back into gear and finding a pace that we hope will last us through to the end of the year. Without adding more to your plate, I wonder if we have also sought the Lord about what He would have us accomplish for His Kingdom in this second half of the year.

For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (Eph 2:10)

The Scriptures tell us,
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no-one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. EPH 2:8-10

These few short verses remind us that while our salvation is a gift of God given to us by His grace, we were also made to bear His image for His purposes. This means that God has a unique purpose and journey for each one of us in Christ. And it is for each of us to earnestly seek the Lord for the Kingdom
assignments He has for us in every season of life. It is my strong conviction that just as God has prepared in advance good works for each of us to do, He will never allow for any season of your life to go to waste.

  • Is there a Kingdom assignment that He has put upon your heart for this season that you haven’t started on? Perhaps, it is time to put your hand to it and see how the Lord will lead you.
  • Is there someone whom the Lord has put on your heart to reach with the Gospel or a testimony of His faithfulness? Is it time to reconnect or broach the subject with this person?
  • Is there a wound in your heart that has been festering? Perhaps the Lord is pointing it out in this season and exposing it so that healing may come.
  • Finally, is there a need in your family that requires your keen attention in this season? May the Lord bring forgiveness, reconciliation or restoration through you to your loved one by His grace.

KY family, this second half of the year will go by faster than you imagine. Let’s not tarry with what the Lord is calling us to. Be strong, courageous and Kingdom-minded in this season, and may our great and faithful God find in KY a people ready for His use.
