John 15:5
From here we can see that the word healthy has to do with growing and bearing fruits.
A lot of us desire to be healthy. By definition the word “healthy” covers different areas, such as, physical, mental, psychological, financial, relational among others. And not forgetting we must be spiritually healthy. Our Scripture provides us with a formula to being healthy. Jesus said, I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
I am the vine and you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)
From here we can see that the word healthy has to do with growing and bearing fruits. This can only be achieved if we remain connected to Jesus. This is a mark of a healthy disciple of Jesus whereby a disciple goes out to multiply other disciples.
The church is made up of many individuals. Our mission is to let every individual become a disciple of Jesus, and not merely believe in Jesus. To be healthy spiritually we need to receive the grace of God through reading the Scriptures, regularly attend worship services, and being in fellowship with fellow believers. Only by doing so, is the church able to make healthy disciples who are growing both qualitatively and quantitatively.
Prayer is also an important discipline that we must not neglect. For it aligns our heart with the heartbeat of God. Let me take this opportunity to urge you to participate in the 40 days of prayer leading to our National Day. You can refer to the Sunday weekly bulletin details on the devotional material and others.
Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. (3 John 1: 2)
