2 Corinthians 4:7-10
Let’s continue in this journey of being the Body of Christ to one another…
Dear KY family,
Entering into the new year of 2026, I want to wish all of you a blessed and wonderful new year! Today, we install the leaders of the church for the next 2-year term. What a wonderful occasion to recognise God’s faithfulness to KY and His calling upon each of the leaders to serve the church in their various roles and capacities. Praise be to God!
On a more personal note, I would like to update that I have been on medical leave over the past 2 weeks due to a miscarriage. My husband and I learnt of the foetus’ non-viability in early December at 7 weeks’ pregnancy. At the time, we were also grieving another death in the family just a month before. Needless to say, it has been a difficult and challenging period for my family.
We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. (2 Cor 4:10)
In times like these, the Lord reveals to us where our hope truly lies. Are we hoping for a miraculous change in our circumstances? Are we hoping for life to be filled with only the good things? Or is our hope placed solely and fully upon the God who gave His life for us and is coming back for us?
During this period of grieving and recovery, I have also experienced the love and support of the KY family. Thank you to all of you who have reached out with a kind word, a gift, or a prayer. Special thanks to the pastors and staff team, along with the leaders, who have covered some of my duties while I was on medical leave. My family certainly feels the love you all have for us, and the power of Christ’ life within the Body.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body.
~ 2 Cor 4:7-10
Someone commented that it is brave of me to share such a personal and raw experience with the church. For me, it is not “brave”, it is an opportunity for us to be family to one another. And I thank you for being God’s family to me, and allowing me to be a part of your lives. Let’s continue in this journey of being the Body of Christ to one another that the life of Christ may be revealed more and more. All glory to God!
