Easter Sunday

John 3:16-17

April 6, 2026

Go and make disciples

Dear KY family,
Allow me to wish you all a very Blessed and Happy Easter Sunday!
Easter Sunday, or Resurrection Day, is the joyful victorious conclusion to the season of Lent. After the waiting period of Lent, the sorrow of Good Friday and the uneasiness of Holy Saturday, Easter morning is one that breaks forth in radiant light. The Scriptures tell us that the stone was rolled away, the tomb is empty, and Christ is risen!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (Jn3:16)

If ever there was good news to share to a world going through violence, turmoil and death, this is it! The Good News of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who came into the world, suffered, died and was raised from the dead, is more than a once-off event to be remembered once a year. It is a mystery that God has made known to the world – For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. (John 3:16-17)
“Easter” is the anglo-saxon word for “spring”, meaning that Easter is the season for new beginnings, fresh starts, and perhaps hope for a new life. Do you desire for a fresh start or a new beginning? Are you wanting a second chance at life? The hope of Easter is precisely this – while we were dead in our sins, God made us alive in Christ (Eph 2:5). Have you experienced this new life in Christ?
And if you have, it would be good to note that the one instruction Jesus gave His disciples before He ascended into heaven was to “Go and make disciples”.
