Jesus has ascended to heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God.

After His resurrection, Jesus Christ appeared to various people in different places and at different times:

“…but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen …” (Acts 10:40-41).

• Early on the first day of the week, Jesus appeared to Mary who stood outside the tomb crying. He asked her, “Woman, why are you crying?” After which, He asked her to go tell the disciples about the news of His resurrection. (John 20:14-18).
• On the first day of the week, Jesus appeared to two disciples who were on their way to Emmaus. He explained the Scriptures to them. The disciples then asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Luke 24:13-35).
• On the evening of the first day of the week, Jesus came and stood among the disciples who had gathered with the doors locked in fear of the Jewish leaders. He greeted them, “Peace be with you!”. Then He showed them His hands and side and breathed on them.(John 20:19-23).
• Eight days later, Jesus appeared to Thomas and the disciples. Again, He greeted them, “Peace be with you!” Then He showed Thomas His hands and His side. (John 20:26-29).
• Afterward, Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Galilee. Jesus told them, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat…” Later, He baked fish for them to eat as breakfast. When they had finished eating, Jesus asked Peter three times, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Subsequently, Jesus told Peter, “Feed my sheep”, and asked Peter to follow Him. (John 21:1-19).

Dear brothers and sisters, whenever our risen Lord Jesus appeared to those who followed Him, He did a miraculous work in their lives. He took away their grief, unbelief, fear, pain, and doubt. At the same time, He entrusted them with assignments. This was attested by Peter when he spoke at Cornelius’s house, “…but God raised him from the dead on the third day and caused him to be seen. He was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen …” (Acts 10:40-41).

Jesus has ascended to heaven and is now seated at the right hand of God. He has sent the Holy Spirit to be with us. The Holy Spirit is at work in us. Like the disciples who saw the risen Christ, those of us who have encountered the Holy Spirit bear the marks of God’s miraculous works. Grief, unbelief, fear, suffering, and doubt have been removed from us. Peter once said that those who saw everything Jesus did will be His witnesses. In the same way, we who have experienced the Holy Spirit, are to bear witness to the Holy Spirit.
